Fairmont Area Community

The public is invited to join the Fairmont Economic Development Authority (FEDA) for their monthly meeting. The mission of the Fairmont Economic Development Authority (FEDA) is to maintain Fairmont as a quality community through business retention, expansion and a favorable business climate.

The Public Utilities Commission shall delegate the day-to-day operations of the utilities to the public utilities division; develop polices, procedures and plans to serve as guidelines to the public utilities division, in the performance of its tasks and roles; and formulate policy, procedures and plans consistent with the overall goals and objective of the city determined by the City Council. The Commission will also recommend to the Council all agreements and contracts.

The public is invited to attend the monthly meeting of the Park Board. The Park Board's purpose is to provide recommendations to the City Council regarding the parks and recreational facilities within the city, and to develop rules and regulations regarding their use. The Park Board is also the Tree Board, which is responsible for policy regarding the care, preservation, pruning, replanting, removal or disposition of trees and shrubs in parks, along streets and in other public areas.
