Military-style Field Chapel Service - 10:00 am on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at First Congregational United Church of Christ (319 Downtown Plaza). In honor of Flag Day (June 14) and Pastor Cory's military service, there will be an outdoor "military chapel service" on the lawn next to First Congregational UCC. Any Veterans/former military members or their family are invited to wear a uniform or something denoting their or a family member's service, and others are encouraged to wear red, white, & blue. Holy Communion will be offered, and is open to all believers. Bring your own lawn chair. (In case of rain, service will be held inside the church.)

Each group will practice from 7:00-8:20 am every other day June 16, 17, 18 & 20, June 23-27, July 7-11 and July 14-18. Groupings and dates specific to each player will be emailed out after registration closes. There will also be various match play opportunities for all 7th-12th graders in June and July. Those dates will be announced when camp begins. Must register by May 26 to receive shirt. Registrants will receive T-shirt and treats on the last day of each session. In addition to covering basketball basics, girls will be introduced to lay-ups, free-throws, and advanced passing and defensive skills. Girls should be able to dribble with both hands and shoot at a 10' basket. In this level, girls will be divided into teams and will begin learning how to play the half-court and full court game of basketball. Girls will learn to value the team concept as they learn to work together for a common goal. Wear gym shoes, socks, and shorts for comfort. Parents are invited to attend. Includes shirt. Watercolor Glazing Technique Workshop with Caroline Porter - For ages 14 and up. Learn the much desired watercolor layering technique, Glazing, in this 1.5-2 hour long workshop led by local watercolor artist, Caroline Porter. In this workshop, you'll draw and paint still life artworks of pears and blueberries while also learning basic color theory and shading skills. Musicians Needed! Come Join the Fairmont Band! This volunteer group of musicians from the Fairmont area provide musical entertainment, enjoyment, and good will to the community during its summer concert series. Performances take place on Tuesday evenings at Sylvania Park Band Shelter, Rehearsals begin at 6:00 pm and concerts are at 8:00 pm. There are no auditions, tryouts or solos required to participate, and membership is open to all instrumentalists, 10th grade and older.
